Rod Carpenter started this ministry to help those that want to study the Bible in a more in-depth matter.  Rod Carpenter has over 40 years of experience in studying the Bible.  Rod Carpenter has served as pastor at Solid Rock UPC in Corpus Christi, Texas since 1994 along with his wife, Paula Carpenter.  Rod Carpenter has two kids and seven grandkids.

Rod Carpenter has served as presbyter of the South Texas District Great Coastal Bend from its origin in 2003 until 2011.  He has performed as an adjunct professor at Del Mar College and has taught in the Bible Colleges. 

​

He is the National Executive Director of the Life in Focus Education program. He authored the faith-based curriculum known as the A.C.T.S. (Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series) in 1986, and this program is being used nationwide and in 13 countries.

​

He also wrote the Employment Development book that is used through the LIFE program and by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was invited to the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives during the George W. Bush presidency.  He has in addition to the Employment Development book written two Anger Management books and cowrote The Proactive Parenting Curriculum which is used by CPS nationwide.

His awards include: Most Innovate Program Governor's Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Award (2016); Substance Abuse Treament Program Governor's Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Award(2011); Texas State Senate Proclamation (2007); City of Houston Proclamation (2007); Governor's Volunteer Service Award (2007);  Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division (Corpus Christi, Texas - 2007) — Certificate of Appreciation; Agency Partnership Award (2005); State of Texas — Governor’s Criminal Justice Volunteer Award (2003); Nueces County Juvenile Department - Agency Partnership Award (2003); State of Texas — Governor’s Volunteer Award (2002); Certificate of Appreciation (KBCTC Volunteer Program - 1989)

 

His community service includes: CCPD Chaplain (2016-present); Senior Chaplain for the CC Pardon and Parole Department (1995-2008); Chair-Corpus Christi Partnership Council (1995-2008); Board member of CBAY (Coastal Bend Alliance for Youth – 2008); Board Member of Taking Back the Streets (2007); Board member of the Rio Grande Valley Partnership Council (2007); Board member of Youth Opportunities United (1999 – 2001); Oklahoma District Chaplain for Christian Prisoner Fellowship (1982-1990); Pastor of Iglesia Pentecostal Unida in Oklahoma City, worked with local lawyers to organize the legalization of Mexican workers (1984-1987); Served on the City of Moore, Ok, Plumbing Board (1985-1987).
